You can add files for revision with "git add" command.

design?  What design decisions did you took for this feature?  Better
discuss design first.

Also, your patch seems to be based on Browse code before current GTK3
development (Browse HEAD).  In order to make the porting to GTK3
easier, the dev team agreed to only do bug fixing in the GTK2 branch.

So, yes please say a bit more about what the teachers exactly requested. What is the scope of that Feature, is it about setting a default page for a country, a deployment, a school, or a class, or individually for each kid?

Depending on this information we can decide where this possibility should go. For example, in your approach, every learner has to set the default page once at least which is too fine grained if it is for setting the page for all of a country.
