That's not what I've read. Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 are supported on all stable Fedora releases, according to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM/Raspberry_Pi
However, if it is true that older Raspberry Pi are unsupported, that's a good reason to use Raspbian, which continues to be supported.
