uhm, That's weird, Makefile.in is generated by automake using the Makefile.am file, do u have the automake tools installed ???
look at here in your configure output: "configure.ac:8: require Automake 1.9, but have 1.7.9" can u upgrade to automake 1.9 and try again ? cheers.
