> Isn't the Icon in the journal always the same for any given activity? That's what the TITLE FIELD in the Activity is for -- to distinguish (in the journal) between multiple uses of that same activity.
Admittedly, some kids may have a better visual memory than textual skills. But the thumbnail in the detail view of the journal entry is often not easy to identify - to suggest that it be used as the principal "distinguishing identifier" *will* slow Sugar down. One thing I wish for is that *every* Activity had a 'keep' icon in its menu (I miss 'keep' in Terminal), such that the kid who wants to use thumbnails to remember past activities can *choose* the content he wants to put into the thumbnail. (I have no problem with an automatic creation of the thumbnail when an activity session is "closed" for good.) I personally fail to see the utility of thumbnails while navigating between open activity sessions. I myself *do* remember what was going on in each of the activities I have open (when I navigate, what I look at is the whole session, not just the thumbnail), and can easily stop navigating when I recognize my intended destination. What matters to me is getting to that destination quickly. [If someone wants to "page" through the journal while looking at thumbnails -- fine, let them. Just don't slow me down when I am NOT "paging" that way through the journal.] mikus _______________________________________________ Sugar mailing list Sugar@lists.laptop.org http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/sugar
