Tracking conventional fuel consumption with the battery device is supported: https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/Models/Electric.html#tracking_fuel_consumption_for_non-electrical_vehicles Please add sumo option --log log.txt and check for reported errors in log.txt after the run.
