Dear Soheil,

the vehicle type change is persistent. If you want to switch back, you need
another Calibrator. The Calibrator updates the speed limit if defined with
a speed value and creates vehicles with the referenced route starting at
the calibrator location. Then these vehicles then will follow the route to
the destination.

Best regards
Mirko

Thank you for your reply, Mirko.

Regarding this solution, will the vehicles have the new type when they exit
the selected edge? or will they have their default type (defined in the
route file for each vehicle) when not on a calibrated edge?

Some other questions about calibrators:
When we use speed calibrators, will that change the speed limit of selected
edges or will that change the flow in a way that the average speed matches
the speed in the calibrator?
When calibrating the flow and in case of not having enough flow, will the
calibrator only create flow for the selected route, and new trips will
start and end at both ends of the route? Or new trips will be sampled from
actual OD pairs whose trips will pass the selected route?

Thanks again for your help,
Best,
Soheil

  Dear all,
I have a network that includes multiple road types, from small streets to
highways therefore I need to implement the car-following parameters in an
edge-wise manner. Currently, those parameters are set in my route file as
properties of vehicles and are consistent throughout the trip regardless
of the road type the vehicles are on. Can anyone let me know if it's
possible to make vehicles change their behavior during the trip based on
  the edge they are on?

  Thank you,
  Soheil
