I want to generate traffic using DFRouter. So far, I succeeded by following the explanation from http://sumo-sim.org/userdoc/Demand/Routes_from_Observation_Points.html. But now I am wondering how to generate traffic with good randomization. The first problem I noticed is that the csv-file with detector information can only have columns with qPKW, vPKW, qLKW and vLKW. DFRouter can now generate vehicles only with the default type, or with the types PKW and LKW. Question: is it true that the only way to get my own vehicle types on the road using DFRouter is by putting my vehicle types in one or two vTypeDistributions which I name PKW and LKW?
But there is a problem with this: 1. (option A) When I put all normal cars in a vTypeDistribution called PKW and all trucks in a distribution called LKW, then in the generated flow every x-th vehicle will be a truck. So the randomization on the occurance time of trucks is lost. 1. (option B) When I put all vehicle types in one vTypeDistribution called PKW, then there is a problem with the insertion speed. On a non-jammed highway, cars could be inserted with 120 km/h but trucks should be inserted with 80 km/h. But this is not possible since only one value can be given in the 'vPKW' column of the detector readings. It can even result in errors when loading Sumo because trucks might have a lower maxSpeed than the insert speed. 2. In the csv-file with detector information, maximally two different starting speeds can be defined: vPKW and vLKW. When I apply randomization in the desired speed of the generated vehicles, then this should have an effect on their starting speed, but I don't know how. Currently, when loading sumo-gui I see a list of warnings which tell that the vehicle's speedFactor is altered to match the starting speed (although vehicles still have their unique speedFactor, which can be different from 1.00). But I would like to see the starting speed altered to match the desired vehicle speed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CenturyLink Cloud: The Leader in Enterprise Cloud Services.
