Hello SUMO community.
I have been
running a series of simulations with exactly the same routes and vehicle
characteristics (max speed, mingap, acceleration, etc) and found that I have
the same outputs from the e1 detector and the tripinfo function.
I know that
the default model for SUMO is the Krauss model and that it updates each vehicle
speed according to the gap between it and the vehicle in front, its current
speed and acceleration capabilities. I also know that it adds a bit of noise
from a random number generator, so the speed for the next time step isn't the
exact speed from the equations.
If this is
the case, why am I getting the same results from ten different runs? Shouldn't
it be some differences between the simulations as a result of the random
numbers? Is the rand option turned off, somehow?
