Luke - I have a special fondness for this translation of Ptolemy. When I tell people that I have a footnote in the history of science, they can take me literally. Check the index for my name - small item, but I like the thought of being associated with Ptolemy. That was part of the inspiration for the thought process that brought me to the new (latitude independent) Ptolemaic Coordinate sundials I introduced last year in The Compendium.
