Subject: Your Painted Sundial

John, Kudos on your recent dial.  You have the distinction of having made professional dials in widely different mediums.

I was baffled by how you got Delta Cad to draw the curves for the ribbon banners on your dial.  How did you do it, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Bill:

Thanks Bill!  I got a little tired of doing only stone sundials in monochrome colors.  It's been so much fun trying other mediums, especially those that permit full color designs.

You asked:

That's easy!  Just go to your Delta Cad toolbar at the top of the page, and click on "Spline" and begin drawing.  Once you have drawn your curve, you can modify its shape by moving the points around or adding or subtracting points while in spline mode.  When I drew the curved ribbon, first I drew one side of the ribbon, then I used the parallel spline feature to draw the other side of the ribbon.

see you in Vancouver I hope,

John
