Solstice Greetings to one and all ( and a Happy New Solar Year)

Tomorrow’s winter solstice sunrise event at Newgrange will be streamed live
by the Office of Public Works and RTE. See

http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/

Coverage begins at 8:30am GMT on Tuesday 21st December.

RTÉ will also be providing a live free to air broadcast of the event for any
television networks who wish to air it and indeed to anyone with a suitable
satellite dish. Obviously, given the recent severe weather that we have been
experiencing, the broadcast of the event is contingent on the monument being
accessible on the morning of the solstice.

Live footage of the event will also be available to broadcast media and
satellite users on December 21st from 8.30GMT to 10.00GMT - Satellite
frequency:

Telstar 11N, located at 37.5 degrees west.

The receive parameters are as follows...

Downlink frequency...10970.200Mhz

FEC....3/4

Polarisation...Vertical

Symbol rate...2.894

Modulation is 8PSK, DVB-S2.

I take no responsibility for Sat Freq. details, I give them as I received
them in good faith. But do check the Heritage Ireland website as we’ve been
having severe winter snow storms in recent days and Newgrange may be
inaccessible to all but the brave.

Regards,

Michael
