Thanks for your kind comments about my Pilkington & Gibbs’ appearance on the 
Antiques Roadshow recently.
My apologies to all for the slip of the tongue when I said “day” instead of 
“year” when talking about the sun’s variation – it’s all too easy to get 
flustered when you are in extremely unfamiliar surroundings.

I did spend quite some time on the day trying to persuade the BBC that a 
programme about sundials would have universal interest, after all, they could 
have ready access to the world’s experts via this list.
Sadly, they have not been beating a path to my door – well, not yet anyway.

Incidentally, they managed to make two shows from their visit to our village, 
and my wife will be on next Sunday’s programme – she will be the one with the 
very large Imari plate.

I have subsequently had an approach from someone who owns an “unknown” Sol 
Horometer.
It is local to me, so I am going to have a look at it later today.
