SRSS isn't as Jumpstart-friendly as it should be. I'm hoping
to get at least the worst of the remaining problems fixed in
the next release.

We're still trying to figure out whether we can produce a patch
that will allow SRSS 3.0 to be supported on S10. My guess is
that we won't have been able to complete a full QA cycle on S10
by the time the first patch is created, so official S10 support
will come no sooner than the second 3.0 patch. I'm hopeful that
the first patch will fix all of the known S10 issues (there
aren't many) but QA may find more issues.

You're welcome to try to run SRSS on S10, but be aware (as I
said in an earlier message) that if you find a problem that
can not be reproduced on one of the supported Solaris releases
then Sun might take the position that they won't spend a lot
of effort investigating that problem and won't deliver the
fix in a patch.

Incidentally, for anyone who is interested in Solaris
Containers (or "Zones") on S10, note that SRSS will work only
in the global zone. It's unlikely that it will be able to
run in a local zone even in the next release.

That's the plan, although we're not sure what the next release
will be called. If we can figure out a reasonable way of
supporting 3.0 on S10 before then, so much the better.
