David,

I am running Sun V60x machines (Dual 2.8GHz Zeon, 4GB Ram, 2xSCSI 10kRPM, 1Gbps NIC) in the test environment. The server runs Debian (Sarge) 3.1 (or RHAS3) and is connected to 4 SunRay 150s with a 100Mbps 3Com 3300 Switch.

Thanks,
Don

Donald,

I have been testing SRSS 3.0 for Linux, in particular the ability to play QuickTime, RealPlayer and Windows Media Player files. MPlayer seems to play everything although the sound is sometimes offset by more than two seconds. The options vo=sdl and ao=oss seem to be the only ones that provide video and audio playback. If the video size is more than 1/4 of the screen performance drops considerably, sunray bandwidth limitations perhaps?

Can you give some details of your platform? eg server, bandwidth, no of sunray clients, linux distribution/version.

Thanks, this is really interesting and useful.

Dave
