Dear All,

We use SRS 3.0 and Gnome 2.8.1 from Blastwave and for most things this is an excellent combination. However, we have noticed a few things to watch out for. The main problem we see is the occasional (three times a week or during heavy use) bonobo-activation processes running out of control. This is usually accompanied by the fam process running high too.

When these processes run out of control users experience problems logging in to the system. We currently have 20 Sun Ray 1 heads using a V440 with 16Gb Ram and 4 processors.

We also notice that gconfd processes often get left behind when a user logs out. These may be related.

Has anyone had similar problems? Or do the Gnome updates (2.8.2?) fix these problems?

Thanks,

Philip.
