It seemed bge1 was not configured as a dedicated interconnect, so utfwadm wouldn't configure firmware uploads for bge1. I did a utadm -r, utadm -c and utadm -a bge1 - everything worked smoothly, and I got 3.1_12,REV=2005.04.13.06.03 uploaded to the Sunray right away :)

Now I'll take it back home and try to connect it remotely again. As the new firmware actually gives errormessages onscreen, I might be one step closer to getting this to work from home :))

You were also completely correct about the keyboard - on the sunfire locally I had a Norwegian Sun-keyboard, but on the Sunray I had a logitech Norwegian keyboard, which identified itself as type 0. I changed 0 to Norway6.kt, and now I have Norwegian keyboard also :))

Thank you for all the good help so far!

Edvin

If the unit doesn't get new firmware automatically when it powers up
then that means that something is broken or misconfigured. Whatever
is stopping the automatic download will also prevent utfwload from
succeeding.

What does 'utadm -p' say? What does 'ls -l /tftpboot' show? Is TFTP service enabled on the server? (Check by running the TFTP client program on the server and trying to download a file locally.) Do any reports from the Sun Ray appear in /var/opt/SUNWut/log/messages after
you power it up?
