We run Oracle 6i Developer on our Sun Ray Server which for the most part
runs perfectly well. However, recently we have seen a strange
phenomenon. Essentially once we get several users (doesn't seem to be a
specific number) running the forms designer executable you can no longer
run the same application as a different user. Today after 8 people ran
the application nobody else could run it. The last user to run it
complained that it ran incredibly slow. Once they had all logged off it
ran fine again as any user we chose to run it as.
This may not be a Sun Ray issue but I wondered if anyone had seen this
behavior elsewhere or might have a simple explanation. The OS is Solaris
10, platform is sparc and version of Sun Ray server is 3.1. The server
is a V440 with 16Gb of memory that hardly ever drops below 12Gb
available memory. Could there be some config to tweak the number of
processes or files that can be open/ran?
