Naaman,

Does your SunRay server have a sound card? 

As far as I am aware, the V20z that Dave is using does not have a sound
card. This in turn means that ALSA, sound card configuration etc does
not create /dev/audio etc.

Dave, my recommendation is to use the /opt/SUNWut/bin/utsettings
application to adjust the volume.
