Ok - I gave up on ubuntu just not getting past the 26 D screen. I spend hours on getting all the libs and utils added, followed the "wiki" instructions... just getting to 26D. When I do utrestart -c, the lock with a red "X" shows up for a second or so and then .. 26D..
Ok, downloaded Suse 10.0.. installed dhcp server, java, etc.. do a utadm -A 172.18.0.0.. getting Error host name for 172.18.1.236 not found. I'm a bit disappointed.. shouldn't Sun be a bit better in makeing the SunRay software usable with Linux OS's? I see a big future, but not with a installation procedures like this. Sun is saying the SunRay software is supported in RedHat, Suse etc. -- yes, Suse 8. Why would I install Suse 8 if I can install 10.0? I think Sun should keep up on this. If they would, the SunRay software would be much more used. I case somebody has a how-to install Suse 10 or Fedora 4, or even a mandrake... please let me know. I'm also open for suggestions on the ubuntu 26D issue... Yes, I have the sun ray server running on a solaris install. Works great.
