The LCD monitor is supposed to have an optimum resolution of 1440x900,
however the Sun Ray 2 does not seem to sync up with the monitor properly.

Sun Ray does not know how to drive 1440x900. You could open a
support call and ask for that timing to be added. (Presumably you
want 1440x900 at a 60Hz refresh rate.)

When checking the display resolution settings with "Shift+Props" it shows to
be sync'ed up as "Standard".

"Standard" is the fallback timing, currently [EMAIL PROTECTED], that Sun
Ray uses when it gets no DDC response from the monitor or when
it does not understand the DDC response. Any VESA-compliant
monitor is supposed to be able to sync to that timing, so at least you
should be able see something on-screen. However, in this case I
bet it's a red herring, the SR2 is not really driving 640x480. I bet
what's happening is ...

When selecting a different resolution, nothing
appears to happen.

... that you're being bitten by bug 6412036. If you run 'utsettings'
from a terminal window in the SR2 session, what happens in the
terminal window?

Has anyone had any resolution issues with the new Sun
Ray 2 thin clients with a similar type monitor?

(I have a Sun Ray 1G connected to one of these LCD monitors and it seems to
have connected at [EMAIL PROTECTED] However, with Shift+Props I am able to at
least select different display resolution settings (although none seem to be
better than the 1280x1024)...

1280x1024 is the largest timing that Sun Ray knows about that
is acceptable to this monitor. The next larger one is 1400x1050
and that's too big.
