Sure, you could also do that. That is built in to the product. But dual CAM/NON-CAM use of a DTU under a single policy (how I understood the question) is not currently possibly.

A lot of folks just don't use smart cards due to their cost and single function (i.e. hotdesking) in most environments. When they get integrated into something like an entry system or two factor authentication they are less likely to "lose" them.
