1. Is it possible to turn off screen savers for users? I want to allow
blank screens and in some cases without locking the screen.

That depends on which screensaver program your users are
using. In the Gnome desktop it's usually 'xscreensaver', in which
case the easiest way to force blank-only is to remove (or rename)
the directory where the 'xscreensaver' eye-candy programs
reside. 'xscreensaver' calls those programs "hacks" and I think
they're in /usr/X11R6/lib/xcreensaver/hacks. Don't just 'rm' the
contents of the directory or turn off their execute permissions,
that'll cause 'xscreensaver' to spin.

2. Do DTUs support USB 2.0 or just USB? Because when I plug my USB
memory stick into DTU it works nice but very slow (cca 70KB/s)... :(

The DTUs do USB 1.1. 2.0 bitrates would overwhelm the Ethernet,
but for mass storage the limit isn't bitrate anyway. It's round-trip
latency and small buffers and (on Solaris, I'm not sure about SLES)
synchronous interaction with the filesystem.
