There are ways to make streaming video work reasonably on a Sun Ray,
assuming that you have the right setup. That means that you are running
natively on Solaris and aren't trying to do video from a Windows server
using RDP. I watched a real clip earlier today that was encoded at
25x320x240, and it played flawlessly, at a full 25 fps rate. The server
was a dedicated 280R, and it took 30 Mbps and up to send the
uncompressed video to a Sun Ray 2. Similarly, I've watched youtube clips
using Flash 9 on S10, and they render acceptably as well. (The rendering
using Flash 7 is horrible, with lots of artifacts.) As Bob said, we're
doing a number of things to improve this situation...
