Good afternoon folks.

I have a RHEL 4 server running SRSS 3.1.1 driving several Tadpoles. They're set up to operate in a kiosk-like mode where the user is presented with a windows desktop immediately upon login. The desktop is provided by Citrix. Everything works splendidly until the user tries to start the SIP softphone, which in this case is X-lite. The softphone will, invariably, receive but not transmit. Using the windows sound recorder, however, I can record sound and subsequently play it back. This suggests to me that the tadpole can both receive and transmit audio, but not simultaneously.

I've tried to eliminate as many other factors as I can. If I connect to the Citrix server using a regular PC and use the softphone it works fine. If I connect to the Citrix server using a tadpole being driven by Solaris 10 instead of RHEL 4 and use the softphone it works fine. I have tried two other softphones and all yield the same results. Utaudio appears to be creating devices properly, the LD_PRELOAD environment variable is set, and I can't find anything in the documentation to suggest that I've missed some vital step for getting audio to work properly. Has anyone else had or heard about this issue, or is this simply an undocumented limitation of the linux version of srss?

Thanks very much in advance.

- Brad
