In a rush to restore users connection, I didn't take note of the error
code.
I will do it when it does happen next. So far so good after applying patch
127005-01
and revert the Solaris VM to 1 vCPU.

Not sure. Right now, /usr/sbin/pntadm -P <interface ip> on both servers
show the same
IP assignment starting from 192.168.16.100. I will clone another Solaris VM
to test it out.
