John,
Thanks for taking a try at this one. I think you are probably right that this
would require an update to the firmware of the Accutech client. I may just get
some mice and trackballs for the clients.

Ken:

Well, I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable than I would jump in
on this one. I do have a couple of the Accutech units .... that we also
like thus far. I however am not a touchpad "tapper" and, as a result, I
didn't even realize that was the way that the Accutechs were set up
until you mentioned it.
But, now that I know that and have tested it on our machines, I can tell
you that ours ARE set up with the tap function enabled.

My suspicion is that this would not be easily adjusted until Accutech
produces a firmware update that supports the ability to enable/disable
tap behavior. While I know that some "normal" laptops support that
functionality, it seems that it is likely trickier to support in a Sun
Ray environment because tap/no tap functionality would need to be turned
on/off depending on the user that "owns" that machine at the moment
whereas (I think) it is a somewhat more static situation in a normal laptop.

As an interim solution, does your environment support adding a "real"
USB mouse to the Accutechs ... even one of those little travel ones?
While that probably wouldn't work in a truly portable environment, in
our case we've got our Accutechs on little roll-around carts that
already have an attached mouse pad so we can easily add a USB mouse for
those who don't want to deal with the tapping situation .... or for
those who dislike touchpads of any flavor.

Good luck,

John
