utpreserve won't preserve the network(utadm) configuration.
You need to do utadm configuration after preserve upgrade.

Hello.

I am having problems re-installing a system utilizing SUNWut 3.1
Installation and Configuration Guide, Sept. 2005.

* Backed up SUNWut config with "utpreserve" and resulting directory...
* Loaded new SXDE 9/07.
* Restored "utpreserve" directory to "/var/tmp".
* Ran "utinstall" and selected y to restore from preserve.
* reboot

Sun Rays now stop at OSD 21....

* utfwsync -v
* utadm -c
* utrestart
* utrestart -c
* svcadm enable svc:/network/dhcp-server:default
* utrestart -c

NO LUCK!!!

I have manually restored every configuration file listed in
page 58 of the install guide, plus more...

NO LUCK!!!

"utquery -d 192.168.1.32" returns exit status 0 and no data.

"utadm -a bge0" returns:
Error: Interface "bge0" already configured; cannot add

Is there something NOT preserved with utpreserve?

Is there a "utrestore" command

Cheers,
Joel.
