cat /etc/release will tell you which version you are running, but applying maintenance updates is not the same as being a specific release version. The difference being MU does not add new programs/binaries that are in the new release, it basically patches the existing binaries to the be current with the next level.

To get rid of those Xerror messages (specifically for Headless Servers):

Ah. This is not, it's an updated earlier install. I will fix that next..

(A more general Solaris question for is how you know you are updated to
a new maintenance release).

This box is headless.. (and was when it wasrunning Sun Ray Services 4)..
are the device errors a config problem or an artifact of being too old a
version of X?

This particular specimen is a stand-alone install.

Also, I should add that I've already done the steps on this page:
http://wikis.sun.com/display/SRSS4dot2/How+to+Check+and+Fix+Corrupted+Configuration+Files+(Solaris)

..since that seems to be the most frequent source of 26D.

Subject: [SunRay-Users] Sun Ray SW 5, Solaris 10, and 26D

I upgraded a test server from Sun Ray Services 4 to 5 Early
Access, and
we're stuck at the dreaded 26D. I'd like your advice how best to
debug
the problem.

I did the usual utpreserve/utinstall.. having gotten 26D, I reran
utadm
and utconfig. (I tried the Soft Client.. it connects just fine
but then
brings up a red ball with a white bar through it. A separate
issue?) The
kiosk and card users I try to connect with show up as disconnected
sessions in the session list..

here's what I see when a terminal connects to the server. I do not
see
anything obviously wrong.. except the result of course.
