Hello,

I would like to let you all know that I have managed to finalize my
HOWTO on installing the latest SRSS 4.2 together with SRWC 2.2 on a
current Ubuntu 9.10 server (i386 and amd64). The most challeging job
have been to get gdm and consolekit working properly as the old
'gdmdynamic' functionality has been removed by the gdm crew and thus gdm
and consolekit requires some patching according to changes some SUN
people are proposing to newer gdm/consolekit versions. So these patches
are required to get SRSS working with gdm 2.28+, which in fact is used
in Ubuntu 9.10.

So here is the URL to the HOWTO I just finished today:

http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/SRSS_4.2_on_Ubuntu_9.10_%28i386%2C_amd64%29

We have installed SRSS 4.2 on two ubuntu 9.10 servers already with that
guide and there is one more to go. So far everything seems to work fine
including audio and USB connectivity.

Enjoy. And let me know if you find anything odd in the HOWTO so that I
can adapt it accordingly.

Best regards,
jens
