to follow up on this post: We have diagnosed the problem. We are seeing two things, depending on the type of memory stick 1) When the usb stick is inserted is mounts the partition under /tmp/SUN... when the stick is a normal regular usb stick 2) When the stick is one of those wacky sandisk usb sticks with the sandisk software on it it mounts the sandisk software partition under /tmp/SUN... (1) isn't userfriendly. I found in the sunray bin directory a .sh script that should normally setup a link. (Sorry I can't remember the script name, I'm not online atm.) Also it had some issue's e.g. a cut not working, and using the wrong path for 'id' (solarisism). I found on google there is a new way to do this: http://blogs.sun.com/danielc/entry/a_usb_drive_daemon_for1 That seems more userfriendly, but we still have to try it. Is this still the best way to do it? For (2) doesn't anybody have any idea to handle it? (Maybe (1) will fix it?). Greetings from Ethiopia!
