Crap, I think you're right. Polling will be trivial and no more messing around with timestamps. In fact I don't even have to scan cur/ on startup; I can just assume it's unchanged. If you screw with the Maildir via another MUA you have to run sup-sync --changed, just like with every other source. For this to work, the "offset" for each message will have to be its filename.
