I'm experiencing it as well.  I haven't noticed what causes it, but I've
had things go black-on-green and (I think) black-on-red.

It hasn't happened to me in the last couple of days, which suggests
either that it was fixed in my most recent pull from next, or (perhaps
more likely) that it's caused by a functionality I don't use in my
regular daily use of sup, but did use when I was doing a lot more in the
way of thread management when I was coming back to sup.  [I mostly just
read, reply, compose, and archive]

I'm running Gentoo here, and keep my system fairly up-to-date.  ncurses
is 5.6-r2, and I run under screen under rxvt-unicode.

Just checked, and it doesn't look like any of the packages I've updated
in the last week are relevant to this.
