Eudora has a setting to check mail every X minutes. It makes a noise
when it finds that mail was present. There is an option somewhere
(in OT or Remote Access?) to let internet applications cause your
computer to log into your ISP. So instead of opening Remote Access
and clicking Connect, you just double click your browser and it takes
control of RA and gets you connected. If you enable this feature,
Eudora will connect you whenever it needs to check mail.

Of course, you'll probably want to enable the feature in Remote
Access that Disconnects after X minutes of Inactivity, otherwise
you'll stayed logged on indefinitely after your email client connects
you to check mail.
