Could be a bad install, need a new HD, bad RAM, or a conflict with some 
of the PCI cards. What cards are installed, what RAM, Try an HD from 
another machine and see if it works from it. Do a 'super PRAM reset". 
Pull the battery out, pull the power cord and hold the CUDA down for 30 
seconds. Unless the CD-ROM has been replaced, the OEM CD-ROM drives 
will not boot from a stock OS CD. You have to use a special driver or 
have the UMAX restore CD in order to boot from a CD. This has been gone 
over MANY times. Check the list archives. The link is at the bottom of 
this message.

Most of these machines came with the IMS (aka IXMicro) TwinTubro cards.
