Do a 'super PRAM reset". Pull the battery out, pull the power cord and hold the CUDA down for 30 seconds. Unless the CD-ROM has been replaced, the OEM CD-ROM drives will not boot from a stock OS CD. You have to use a special driver or have the UMAX restore CD in order to boot from a CD. This has been gone over MANY times. Check the list archives.
