Why is there such a flood at weekends and in the meantime not a peep? Why not be akin to the liberty which we all enjoy . (hopefullly)
Dan has done a great job. Allowed the novice to the expert the right tofix his own mahine. Some of us, and some of us haven't owned S900's/Pulsars from birth. meaning when we could have learnt about them if given the chance. I reckon that since System 8 -8.1, and since Apple lost the Apple from it's own eye, the UMAX has everything that the G3 beige needed and more. Forget IMAC's, they were always a little bit too late compared to the UMAX the 9500/9600 and the 8500 and the 8600. Late, I mean by deliverability. Goods in your face. ( and upgradeability!!!!!!!) Sad about the demise of 9.1 to 9.2. We all had a ball doing useful things pertaining to our own needs. The elements of scanning, printing, learning SCSI, seeing the limitations of ATA/IDE, enjoying the internet. to name a few, Zip work, sizing down, etc.etc.etc. So anyway nobody is under any pressure to use the S900/Pulsar.... As a matter of interest mine now does everything the Dual Gig does,( if somewhat slower) does not mater about the monitor refresh and all the Radeon 7000 paranoia though those of you who have bought that PSI card will swear by it, it's all about what get's the job done...no? Sometimes it's nice to swim against the tide, it open's one's brain cell's to outside elements which is what we all need. So I have ranted a little. but spoken from the heart. Question is would I feel safe to do so in a modern Apple forum or is the Apple the wrong side of the block....nonchalant demais/too-much??? I don't care, when I do a gig, the UMAX prints the invoice, something that I am proud of. After all, we all want our pound of flesh no? Hope you can understand my ramblings......
