That said, you need to specify what exact model is the PLW in question. My Personal LaserWriter 300 was a serial only (non LocalTalk) printer and will not be supported since X does not support legacy serial ports. Additionally, that model was a QuickDraw printer rather than a PostScript machine and, again. no QuickDraw support in X. Review the Supported Printers list carefully--what you think might work often will not.

Apple could have added support for these legacy devices and connections but the effort would be huge to make them work which is why a few brave souls are adding their work to the CUPS/Ghostscript pkg. But even these hardy folks are only capable of playing the hand Apple dealt so scrounging up an ethernet based Postscript printer is the ideal solution.
