Mike,

There are adapters and they work. Typically, they plug right in to the back
plane of the drive. In fact, many of the so-called 50 pin drives that are
still available are actually 68 pin drives with sucah an adapter. Be wary of
any adapters that seem too inexpensive--less than $8.00 or so--since they
probably won't provide the proper termination for the additional pins.

Also beware that not all 68 pin drives are created equal. Most currently
available require external termination. Do not confuse this with term power.
The simplest way to verify this is to get an accurate model and/or part
number from the seller and check the technical specifications on the
manufacturer's web site. It requires a bit of diligence, but avoids a lot of
grief. This is particularly true if the intended use is as a boot drive. Any
drive labeled as being LVD or SCA is likely to be difficult to work with
since it expects much more from the memory bus than an S900 can deliver.
