Unless I misunderstand you, you are trying to connect three computers at the same time with crosover cables. You can't do that. For more than two nodes on Ethernet there needs to be a router/switch to manage the traffic, regardless of whether it is TCP/IP or AppleTalk. If one of the NICs is multi-port, or one of the computers has two NICs, then it is possible you could set this up with one of the computers acting as the router. Just the same, it is a lot easier to deal with using a dedicated router with straight through cables, and not terribly expensive, particularly as sharing broad band internet connections becomes more prevalent. If this is not the case, then it is possible the Ethernet port on the PB is defective, or just dirty. Check that all the OpenTransport components (this varies from OS version),and the "Apple Enet" file(s) are correctly installed in your "Extensions" folder. The latter is what makes the Ethernet "visible" to the Control Panel. To re-install from the system CD, you may need to choose "Remote Acces" and/or "Internet" to get what you want, and then delete what you don't need, depending on the OS version.
