I have an extra HD on my s900 plugged into the FWB card-only place it works. Every once-in-a-while it just stops running. Its like it's on a spring which eventually winds down. To get it back I have to shut off the computer and restart. As a matter of curiosity, what sort of things would cause this? Bill S.
sounds like the OS sends the drive a sleep command, and then it fails to respond to the wake-up call. try looking in your energy saver control panel and changing your settings so that the HD never sleeps.
