The Umax cable seems to be good, but it is long. The length makes correct termination of the bus more critical, but if correctly terminated (and your description sounds correct) then it should work. Of course, individual cables could be defective, but I've never heard any complaints about the quality of the Umax included cable.


You aren't by any chance using a VST card are you? I found that the use of a VST under some circumstances (can't remember details, should have taken notes) made the built-in Fast SCSI bus have data corruption issues.
