Yes, the easy access is nice!
Anyway, mine says 25P05AV & 9318C. What does that mean?
Well, I've been reading the ST Microelectronics web site. This chip is supposedly a 64k EEPROM. Clearly, this is not the case with my card. The "flashrom -i" command shows my chip as being 128k, plus it flashed to the Mac version successfully.
It's possible that ST has discontinued production of the 64k chip and is just labeling 128K chips as 64K chips. It would certainly be cheaper for them to do this, rather than maintaining separate production lines.
IAC, the only way to be sure is to try flashing it. If they really have discontinued the 64k chip, then this is good news for us, since it means that fewer and fewer cards will be non-flashable in the future.
Good luck!
Dan
