My compliments to those involved in the thread on Localtalk. I have
learned a bit and the information is well presented.

Now, my 2 shekels:

Have you considered Localtalk Bridge? LTB is a software extension Apple
developed back in System 7.n to allow a Ethernet and Localtalk equipped
Mac to act as a bridge between the 2 topologies. I have a network that
includes a Laserwriter GS, a ImageWriter II and a ImageWriterLQ all of
which are on both the localtalk, and in the case of the Laserwriter, the
Ethernet wires. At one time I had a LCIII Mac with a Asante PDS
ethernet card running MacOS 7.5.3 and LTBridge acting as the switcher.
Worked like a champ. By the way I ALSO Have my screamer Apple IIGS ROM3
(with a Vulcan 150mb hard drive, TranswarpGS Accelerator at 6mhz, 5mb
memory and other stuff) on the Localtalk wires so that it can share
files with a Appleshare 3.0.3 server I run that is also hooked to the
Umax, my dual G4 mirrored door, a Beige, and this and that (plus a Win98
PC running COPSTALK and an XP Pro box running PCMacLAN.
