Jeff, Jaques, Chrisso and everyone,
I'm not sure if it was the fact that I flashed the
card back to 1.19 and then again to 2.08, OR it
PROBABLY was the fact that I walked out of the room in
disgust after the monitor didn't power on after 30
seconds...but in any case, when I walked back into the
room after a minute and a half, the monitor woke up
JUST AS the computer got to the boot up screen that
says, "Mac OS X"!!!

It works great now, except for the fact that the
monitor takes nearly two minutes before you see any
activity on the screen. I installed the November
Retail drivers and I now have a Radeon 7000 PCI in my
S900!
Man I love this list!!!
George

Congrats on getting it to work! You will be happy to know there is an easy fix for the long black screen while booting. The fix is with the XPFacto window open in OS 9.x . At the top under I think advanced you need to choice keyboard for input and your ATI card(listed as ATY something) as output. Once you do this you will have a screen for the whole booting process. This can be helpful at times. It let you boot in Verbose mode and see what is going on while booting. Which can be helpful in trouble shooting at times. Also lets you boot into single user mode by holding down the Apple & s key. Which then lets you use the great fsck UNIX repair utility. The reason for needing to do this simple answer. The NVRAM code for the ATI 7000 card is too large for the NVRAM chip in Old World Macs. So it doesn't load but the above is a work around using XPFacto. later Will S
