Help. I've installed a Sonnett ATA 66 card in the 5th slot of my S900(tried other positions too),
connected to an IBM 40GB Deskstar IDE Drive. This is the second drive I've tried- first replaced by
Hitachi under warranty. The Drive will Initialize and Partition from my OS9.1 disc. I just can't get
the OS to load. It locks up part way into the install, so there is no error message to help me. I've
tried three different CD Drives- an Old Apple ROMed 2x, a Plextor 32xburner and a 40X Plextor- all
SCSI. None work. The same OS 9.1 CD loaded sucessfully on my Seagate SCSI drives, so I doubt it is
the issue? I've read Alan Kim's comments in the archives, tried his suggestions, but nothing seens
to work. To me it seems very unlikely that I'd get two new bad drives in a row, especially when one
was a warranty replacement. Any Ideas? Oh yes, once initialized, Disc First Aid will also freeze
when run in the IBM? Am I doing something wrong? I'm using the Drive SetUp from the 9.1 instal disc,
which came bundled with 10.0, which I have yet to tackle. Help! Paul
