Hi Alan. Gee, Now others are reacting to my post after I've solved my problem. As I read the "read me", if you shut off your computer, unplug the cable between the Sonnett ATA66 card and the drive, restart and run the updater, then shut down, replug the cable and restart to load the "flash" into the card. Nothing hapens to data on the drives. The warning was of possible data corruption if you do not unplug the drive(s) before doing the "flash" and restart. Please reread and see if I read it correctly. It didn't matter to me since mine was a new drive that needed formatting anyway. Paul
