In reply to Mike- it can be. It is also the way to update the ROM memory of a card via a download from the manufacturer's site. Flashing a PC card to work on a MAC usually envolves some code hack before applying the flash. Updating a card is straightforward. This is not only in computers. High end digital cameras are also upgraded this way FYI. Sometimes it is an owner procedure, other times it requires sending the unit in to the manufacturer. The end result is the same- new and updated code in the ROM of the product. Paul
