You will need to set up file sharing on each machine. With our router, the file sharing part works pretty much the same as when we just used a hub.
I'm going to the Asante site to read up on the difference between a hub and a switch.
Apple used to have some very good info too.
I want this to be a hardwired system and introduce wireless to complement the setup.
Security is most certainly easier with a wired system. The older Macs have lots of problems with not being able to handle the recent changes in encryption.
