I'm not sure how universal that is, but when I've seen it, thankfully only
twice in my short time of using Macs, it's indicated hard drive failure.

I'd be running some testing with an HD Tools utility using the long-term
(hours) continuous testing.

If it wants to fail, there is where it will. You'll REALLY want to back up
all your data, first......
