Andrew:

What you described (installing with the drive connected to the 7200) may
very well work. And if your goal is to preserve a piece of history while
seeing how far you can push it to the end of its ultimate upgradeability,
that makes sense. All of these machines would be lost if it weren't for a
few stubborn, dedicated folks like yourself. But someday, when and if you
grow tired of trying to make it keep working, be sure you donate to a
computer museum that will give it the care it deserves. It's a fascinating
chapter in the Mac's history.
