Hey Listers, I'm looking for an "opinion" on a Powerlogix Carrier card and
its performance ... been to XLR8's Database, looking for more "up to date"
and/or
an listers experience. I've been offered one. Regards, Phil Meza

So are we talking about the Powerlogix Z-Force (Carrier) card? Newertech also made one for a while for the record. Just checked my records . I've been using an XLR8 Carrier card since Aug 2000 with Zero problems. I started with a 300MHz . Moved to a G3 500MHz both ran at 50MHz over clock with no problems. I'm now running with a G4 XLR8/Daystar 550 Zif @ 533 MHz at 59 MHz bus. No problems for 6 months . It took awhile to find the machines limits (Umax J700). Machine BUS speed holds the CPU back but it is the fastest Zif upgrade for our machines besides the Sonnet G4 700/800 cards. The Umax machines don't seem to like the fast Sonnet CPU cards few people have gotten them to work together.
Back to the P.Logix Z-Force card. If the price is right why not give it a try. Just don't pay as much as you might for an XLR8 carrier . Reports are the heat sinks can be a bit light and funky. May need to replace or use with a small fan. I believe the Z-Force like most Powerlogix upgrades has far less adjustments for bus/CPU speeds then XLR8. XLR8 nearly all their cards give you 1 and even 1/2 point adjustments for BUS and CPU speeds. Powerlogix gives you more general adjustments and skips the small steps in between. But not everyone needs or wants that. Let us know how it goes if you give it a try. Will S
